Cornwall is my favorite place in the world. I've traveled all over Europe, the United States, and Canada, but Cornwall stands out as my go-to destination when I want to get away from it all. Here's why: If you’re looking for a place to visit in Britain, there are plenty of options. You could visit London or Edinburgh and see some of the best museums, historical sites and restaurants around—but if you want to experience something different from your typical tourist destination, Cornwall may be just what you need.
Cornwall is a place where history meets nature in one of the most beautiful landscapes in Britain. With more than 100 miles (161 km) of coastline along Cornwall's Atlantic Ocean beaches and some of the best surfing in Europe at Fistral Beach near Newquay, this region offers everything from historical sites like Tintagel Castle (where King Arthur was believed to have been born) to breathtaking views of rugged cliffs along rugged coastlines that are perfect for hiking while admiring stunning sunsets over the sea.
The county of Cornwall is a beautiful place to visit, with its rugged coastline and numerous beaches. There are many different areas to see, including the popular "capital", St. Ives; the seaside town of Newquay; and Penzance, which is just by Land's End. The county also has lovely countryside, where you can go on walking tours or visit one of the many castles and stately homes. This makes it a great place for family holidays or romantic getaways; there are plenty of luxury hotels in Cornwall that will suit all budgets!
Getting around Cornwall is pretty simple. The quickest way to get from A to B is by car. However, if you don’t want to pay for parking or find yourself on a narrow road that won't accommodate your car, then take the bus or train instead. If you do decide to drive in Cornwall, make sure you've got decent tires and keep an eye out for livestock on the side of the road! You could also rent a scooter or bicycle while in Cornwall—but be careful at night as there aren't many streetlights here.
This is the largest horticultural attraction in Cornwall, and one of the most popular attractions on its own. With a tropical rainforest and Mediterranean biomes, it's like you're walking through a living science book. The domes also house other life zones from around the world as well as some of the world's rarest plants.
These gardens are so named because they were lost for many years before being rediscovered by Philip Smith in 1980. They have been restored to their former glory since then, creating an English country garden with more than 1,000 acres worth of flowers and fruit trees (plus some weirdly placed dinosaurs). It's definitely worth visiting if you're looking for something different than just beaches!
National Trust Properties: If you enjoy walking or hiking through beautiful places—or want to learn more about local history—then Cornwall has plenty of options for both those types of activities at National Trust properties like Lanhydrock House & Garden (near Bodmin), Trerice Manor & Park (near Newquay), St Mawes Castle & Garden (near Falmouth), Tintagel Castle & Priory Church (near Truro).
You can visit Cornwall year-round, but it's best to plan your trip for spring or autumn. There are two reasons for this:
The weather is milder and more pleasant in the off-season.
You'll have a better chance of finding cheap flights and accommodation since there are fewer tourists around.
Summer sees a surge in visitors, so if you're looking to soak up the sights without too many crowds, plan your trip during spring or fall instead. In winter months (December through February), temperatures drop down significantly, although they're usually not extreme enough to keep people away from their favourite destinations like Land's End or Penzance
Cornwall is a beautiful, historic place with a rich culture and heritage. There’s so much to do there and so many places to see! I love Cornwall because it has everything: history, culture, nature and more.
As you can see, Cornwall is a wonderful place to visit. Whether it's your first time or your tenth, there is always something new to explore and enjoy. I hope that this article has provided some helpful tips for planning your trip!
