At Morgan & Mees, I focus on shaping the guest experience through social media, storytelling, and sales. Always aiming to connect with our audience in an authentic and engaging way.
Among other things, I'm currently involved in the rebranding of Morgan & Mees Rotterdam, alongside managing content, communications, and building lasting relationships with our guests and partners.

The style of Morgan & Mees blends classic charm with modern elegance. Housed in a monumental building from 1880, the hotel’s design thoughtfully balances historical details with contemporary influences, resulting in a clean yet characterful look. Morgan & Mees Amsterdam offers just nine rooms, making every stay feel personal, quiet, and thoughtfully curated. Guests can choose between three room types: The Cute One, The Comfy One, and The Special One. Each with its own charm and layout.
The Cute One is perfect for a short and stylish city stay, while The Comfy One offers extra space and a cozy seating area for a more relaxed experience. The Special One is our most generous room, with select suites featuring a private terrace or balcony, a freestanding bathtub, and lovely views over the surrounding neighborhood or the hotel’s terrace.
All rooms are equipped with modern comforts including air conditioning, an espresso machine, a smart TV with streaming services, and a rain shower. Guests also enjoy complimentary in-room snacks and luxurious Marie-Stella-Maris toiletries. Whether you’re here for a weekend escape or an extended stay, Morgan & Mees offers a peaceful yet vibrant retreat in one of Amsterdam’s most charming areas.
Which room do you prefer and why?
I have a soft spot for The Special One. It really feels like a little home in the city. The split level gives it a unique flow, almost like your own apartment, with separate spaces to relax, work, or unwind. It’s that kind of room where you can imagine spending an entire weekend without ever wanting to leave. A true “home away from home” that’s both spacious and full of character.
I also really like one of The Cute One rooms with a balcony. It’s compact and super cozy, and the view over the terrace gives it such a warm, intimate feel. It’s the perfect spot for a quiet moment, whether in the morning light or at the end of the day, tucked away above the energy of the city.

Morgan & Mees is located in Amsterdam West, just a short walk from the lively Jordaan district and the city’s iconic canals. This area is known for its creative energy, local boutiques, cozy cafés and great restaurants. It offers the perfect balance between the buzz of the city and the laid-back charm of a neighborhood where locals actually live.
Westerpark is just around the corner, ideal for a morning walk or a relaxed coffee in the sun. Major highlights like the Anne Frank House and the Nine Streets are also within walking distance, making it easy to explore the best of Amsterdam right from our doorstep.
To help you experience the city like a true local, we offer bikes for rent directly from the hotel. Public transport is also close by, and Amsterdam Central Station is just a short ride away. Whether you're here to discover hidden gems or see the classics, our location is the perfect base to start your Amsterdam adventure.

At Morgan & Mees, food is an essential part of the experience. Our restaurant and bar are open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and serve a diverse, internationally inspired menu with a creative twist. While we have our signature dishes, we love to experiment with seasonal ingredient so the menu changes regularly to keep things fresh and exciting.
Most of what we serve is homemade, and we work with trusted local partners like Bakery Wolff, who provide our daily fresh bread and pastries. We always offer vegetarian and vegan options, and often have gluten-free choices available too. Whether you're in the mood for a healthy start, a comforting classic, or something new and surprising, there's something for everyone.

Staying at Morgan & Mees puts you right in the middle of local Amsterdam life, with plenty to do beyond the usual tourist spots. Start your day with a visit to the lively Lindengracht or Haarlemmerstraat markets, both just a short walk from the hotel. If you're into art and culture, you’ll find independent galleries and the Filmhallen cinema nearby. Perfect for a more local take on the city’s creative scene.
For those who love to explore by bike, it’s easy to venture into neighborhoods like De Baarsjes or Oud-West, filled with vintage shops, design stores and great cafés. Prefer a slower pace? When you travel with kids, which room do they have to book, and what facilities do you offer?
We recommend booking The Special One for families. It’s our most spacious room type, offering plenty of room to move around and relax together. One of these rooms even features a split-level layout, which adds a sense of separation and makes it feel like your own little city apartment.
We can provide an extra bed or a baby cot upon request, depending on the child’s age, making it a flexible option for families with younger children. While we don’t offer a kids’ club or babysitting service, our team is always ready with tips for nearby parks, playgrounds, and family-friendly spots to eat or explore. The restaurant also includes kid-friendly dishes, so there’s something for everyone.
With a warm, welcoming atmosphere and a great location close to green spaces and canals, Morgan & Mees is an ideal base for a relaxed and memorable family stay in Amsterdam.
What are your hotel's environmental commitments?
At Morgan & Mees, we believe that conscious hospitality starts with mindful choices. We’re committed to making our hotel more sustainable step by step, without compromising on comfort or experience.
One of the ways we do this is through our collaboration with Marie-Stella-Maris, whose products not only reduce single-use plastic in our bathrooms but also support clean drinking water projects worldwide. Throughout the hotel, we aim to reduce waste wherever possible, and we are constantly exploring new ways to operate more responsibly, from recycling practices to energy use and our choice of suppliers.
We prefer working with local partners and seasonal products in our restaurant, which helps minimize transport impact and supports small producers. Sustainability is a journey, and while we’re not perfect, we’re always looking for ways to improve. Transparency and progress are key, and we’re proud to welcome guests who care about the world as much as we do.

Morgan & Mees is a welcoming spot for travelers who occasionally need to catch up on emails or have an informal meeting while enjoying a coffee or lunch. The serene, light-filled serre is especially suited for this, offering a calm corner within our lively restaurant setting.
With fast Wi-Fi, good coffee, and a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere, it’s easy to settle in for an hour or two of focused work. While we don’t offer formal business facilities or meeting rooms, guests often find our space a comfortable and inspiring backdrop for light work or creative thinking.
