Tell us more about yourself
I work as part of the direction team at Hotel Íbara. My role focuses on making sure every guest has a great experience and that everything we do reflects the calm and authentic spirit of the hotel. I supervise day-to-day operations, guest communication, and making sure all areas of the hotel — from the rooms to the restaurant and garden — are cared for and well presented.
What I enjoy most is creating a space where people feel comfortable, welcome and inspired, and helping make Hotel Ibara a special place to stay in Ibiza.
Why stay at your hotel?
Hotel Ibara is a boutique hotel designed for travelers seeking calm, beauty and a more genuine side of Ibiza. Located in front of the beach of Es Canar, the hotel is a careful renovation of the former Casa Pepe, a family-run hostal from the 1950s. The project was developed with the idea of preserving the original spirit of the place — honest, simple and close to nature — while updating it with a thoughtful, contemporary design.
The architectural work focused on restoring the structure and enhancing it with natural materials, soft light, and open, breathable spaces. Our style is minimalist and Mediterranean, with local touches and a strong connection to the island’s landscape and traditions.
What makes Ibara special is its atmosphere. With only 19 rooms, a quiet garden filled with native plants, a small restaurant and an honest bar open 24h, everything here is designed to help guests slow down and feel at home. It’s not a place for crowds or trends — it’s a place for rest, good taste, and real connection to Ibiza.
Tell us more about the style, design, and ambiance
Hotel Ibara has a calm, natural and timeless style. The design is minimal and Mediterranean, with soft colors, clean lines, and natural materials like wood, stone and cotton. Every space is thought out to feel open, fresh and comfortable, without excess.
The renovation respected the original structure of the old hostal, keeping the spirit of the island present in every corner. The rooms are simple but warm, with carefully chosen details that make them feel personal and peaceful.
The overall ambiance is quiet, relaxed and welcoming. From the garden with native plants to the honest bar and the soft light in the rooms, everything is designed to help guests slow down, breathe and feel at ease. It’s a place where people can disconnect from noise and reconnect with themselves and the island.
Tell us about rooms and views
Hotel Ibara offers 19 rooms across six categories. All rooms feature queen or king-size beds (180 cm beds can be separated into two singles), walk-in showers, high-speed internet, and cotton bed linens.
5 double rooms with balcony and garden view (approx. 14 m²)
3 double rooms with balcony and partial sea view (approx. 14 m²)
3 double rooms with terrace and garden view (approx. 16 m²; one is adapted for reduced mobility)
4 double rooms with terrace and partial sea view (14–16 m²)
3 junior suites (approx. 20 m², suitable for up to 3 guests)
1 suite (approx. 35 m², suitable for up to 4 guests)
Half of the rooms have views of the garden, and the other half offer partial sea views. All rooms are naturally lit and decorated in a clean, neutral palette with functional, custom-made furnishings.
Which room do you prefer and why?
My favorite is the suite. It’s our most spacious room, about 35 m², and it feels like a private apartment within the hotel. It’s perfect for couples who want extra space or for small families, with room for up to four people. One of its best features is the large private terrace, which offers incredible views. The sun rises right in front of it, filling the space with beautiful morning light — it’s a truly special moment to experience each day.
My second favorite is the double room with terrace and partial sea view. While more compact, it still offers great comfort and a strong sense of connection to the surroundings. The private terrace is a perfect spot to unwind, and the view opens up to the sea, catching the breeze and the light throughout the day. It’s quiet, simple, and very well balanced.
Both rooms reflect the hotel’s natural, minimal design — soft tones, custom furniture, walk-in showers, high-quality cotton bedding and high-speed internet — combining functionality with a relaxed atmosphere.
Tell us more about the service at your hotel
Hotel Ibara is a boutique hotel designed around calm, simplicity, and personal attention. With only 19 rooms, we’re able to offer a nearly 100% personalized service — we take the time to speak with each guest, understand their preferences, and make sure they feel genuinely looked after. The small size of the hotel creates a warm, familiar atmosphere that many travelers value.
While we don’t have a pool or gym, we encourage guests to connect with the island’s natural beauty. The beach is just a 3-minute walk away, and there are many nearby trails, coves and scenic routes to explore. We also offer massage and facial treatments on request, either in-room or outdoors. On selected mornings, we organize yoga sessions in the garden— a great way to start the day.
Our restaurant serves breakfast and dinner with a seasonal, Mediterranean-inspired menu. During low season, we also offer room service. The 24-hour honest bar allows guests to help themselves to drinks and snacks anytime.
Travelers choose Hotel Ibara for its relaxed, personal atmosphere — a place that feels real, quiet, and carefully cared for.
Tell us more about your location and neighborhood
Hotel Ibara is located on the east coast of Ibiza, in the area of Es Canar, a small seaside village known for its relaxed vibe and direct access to the sea. The hotel is just 3 minutes’ walk from the beach, and ideally positioned for guests who want to enjoy the island without the crowds.
We’re close to some of Ibiza’s most beautiful and less crowded beaches, like Cala Nova and Cala Martina, both within walking distance. The hotel is also near the island’s most iconic local markets, such as the Punta Arabí market (just minutes away) and Las Dalias (about 10 minutes by car).
Despite being in a peaceful area, we’re well connected:
– 35 minutes by car from Ibiza Airport
– 25 minutes from Ibiza town
– Public buses and taxis are available in the area
– We offer help with transport, boat trips, hiking routes and local recommendations through our concierge service
This location is ideal for travelers who want to explore the island’s nature and culture, while staying in a calm, authentic setting close to the essentials.
What about the breakfast, restaurant and bar?
At Hotel Ibara, we serve food that’s simple, seasonal and thoughtfully prepared. Our focus is on fresh ingredients, with an emphasis on quality over quantity.
Breakfast is included in the stay and is served à la carte, not as a buffet. Guests can choose from a small but carefully selected menu that includes homemade options, fresh fruit, orange juice, eggs, toasts, yogurt, and pastries. We always offer vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free choices.
Our restaurant is open for dinner, with a Mediterranean-inspired menu that changes with the seasons. Dishes are based on local produce, fresh fish, and simple flavors.
During the low season, we also offer room service for dinner.
Our honest bar is open 24 hours and works on a self-service system. Guests can help themselves to drinks and snacks at any time of day or night, based on trust — something many of our returning guests really enjoy.
Everything we do in our kitchen follows the same idea as the hotel itself: natural, calm, and made with care.
What activities and experiences can travelers enjoy around your hotel?
Hotel Ibara is surrounded by a wide variety of activities that let travelers explore Ibiza beyond the usual tourist routes. Just a few minutes' walk from the hotel, guests can enjoy Es Canar beach, or walk along the coast to reach Cala Nova and Cala Martina, two of the island’s most beautiful and less crowded beaches.
The area is also ideal for hiking and nature walks, with several coastal and countryside trails starting right near the hotel. For culture and shopping, the Punta Arabí market (the oldest on the island) is within walking distance, and the famous Las Dalias market is just a 10-minute drive away.
We offer a concierge service to help guests book boat excursions, bike rentals, massage treatments, and other personalized experiences. Yoga sessions are also offered in our garden on selected mornings.
Whether guests are looking for nature, local culture or quiet exploration, our location makes it easy to experience the more authentic side of Ibiza — with the comfort of returning to a calm and personal setting.
When you travel with kids, which room do they have to book, and what facilities do you offer?
Families traveling with children are welcome at Hotel Ibara. We recommend booking either a junior suite or the suite, as these are the room categories designed to accommodate more than two guests.
The junior suites are approximately 20 m² and can host up to 3 people — ideal for couples with one child.
The suite is 35 m² and accommodates up to 4 people, making it perfect for families who need extra space.
We provide baby cots upon request and are happy to adapt to your family’s needs. Upon request, we can also assist in arranging a trusted nanny service, so parents can enjoy some time to themselves knowing their children are in good hands.
While the hotel doesn’t offer dedicated children’s facilities, our calm and welcoming atmosphere, along with our personalized service, makes it a comfortable and flexible option for families.
What are your hotel's environmental commitments?
At Hotel Ibara, sustainability is integrated into every part of how we operate. As a small, independent hotel, we’re able to make conscious decisions that reduce our environmental impact while still offering quality and comfort.
Here are some of the key actions we’ve implemented:
We are working to eliminate 100% of single-use plastic throughout the hotel — from amenities and cleaning supplies to packaging and service materials.
Bathrooms use refillable dispensers and biodegradable alternatives.
We’ve installed low-flow water systems to optimize consumption without compromising the guest experience.
We encourage guests to reuse towels and choose when linen is changed, helping to reduce unnecessary water and energy use.
We follow a strict recycling policy and work with local providers to ensure proper waste management.
Our restaurant uses local, seasonal products, supporting small producers and minimizing transport emissions.
We are moving towards a fully paperless reception, using digital systems for check-in, guest communication and internal operations.
We keep guests informed and involved in our sustainability efforts, fostering transparency and shared responsibility.
These are ongoing efforts, and we continue to improve — always aiming to respect the island’s natural balance and the people who call it home.
What business facilities do you offer for travelers?
Hotel Ibara is primarily a space for rest and relaxation, but we understand that some guests may need to stay connected during their stay. While we are not a business hotel, we offer basic services to support light remote work — exclusively for guests staying at the hotel.
All rooms and common areas have access to high-speed internet, stable enough for video calls and remote work.
Guests are welcome to work from their private terrace or balcony, or from our indoor lounge areas.
While we don’t have dedicated meeting rooms, if a guest needs to host a small meeting, we can offer the dining room during hours when it’s not in service, subject to availability.
Printing or scanning can be arranged through reception upon request.
Our calm, quiet atmosphere makes it possible to get work done when needed — while still enjoying the slower rhythm of the island.
Do you want to share anything else?
Hotel Ibara is more than just a place to stay — it’s a quiet corner of Ibiza where everything has been thought through with care. From the architecture to the materials, from the way we serve breakfast to how we speak with our guests, every detail reflects a desire to offer something honest, calm and genuine.
We’re a small team and a small hotel, which allows us to connect personally with each guest. We take time to understand what people need — whether it's help planning a local hike, arranging a massage, or simply making sure their room feels just right.
If you're looking for a place with true character — one that respects the island and gives you space to slow down — Ibara is a place to discover. It’s not about luxury or excess. It’s about simplicity done well, light, quiet, and thoughtful hospitality.
