Interview de Stephanie Larguier du Domaine de la Xavolière

Can you introduce yourself?

After leaving Paris and a very hectic life, we spent 15 years in our family home in Provence with our two children. We now wish to share this magical place. We have completely renovated both the house and its grounds so that everyone feels utterly at ease.
Our guesthouse opened its doors in June 2022. We hope you will feel completely at home here and enjoy an unforgettable stay.

Tell us about your hotel

Our estate—less than an hour from Nice and half an hour from Cannes—is set in the heart of a pristine, wild landscape on 10 hectares overlooking the foothills of the Alps. We offer four guest rooms, all located on the upper floor of the main house with views over the park or the pool. A cozy sitting room and a kitchen with a fireplace are also at your disposal.
Coffee flows freely, breakfasts are plentiful and organic, with fresh eggs laid by our hens; the honey comes from our own hives, which forage on the garden’s lavender.
The property is just 3 km from the charming medieval village of Cabris, home to several gourmet restaurants. This “hanging village” has hosted many famous writers; our rooms are even named after them and offer breathtaking views from the Côte d’Azur to Saint-Tropez.

What experience will travelers have in your hotel?

At Domaine de la Xavolière, you’ll find complete peace—no development, no neighbors, just unspoiled scenery. It’s the perfect place to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of city life, and if you’re lucky, you might glimpse a deer, a rabbit, or a squirrel.
Nights are cool—our altitude is 600 m—and days are pleasantly warm. The heated pool offers stunning views of the pré-Alpine mountains.
Numerous hiking trails start directly from the house, so you can explore the surrounding countryside on foot.

What are the strengths of your establishment?

A suspended moment between sea and mountains, yet still close to the Côte d’Azur and its cultural attractions.
Discover the wild world of the pré-Alpine mountains and the Provençal hinterland: vast spaces planted with oaks, pines, junipers, cypresses, olive trees, lavender, savory, thyme, linden, acacia, broom, rosemary, and other Mediterranean flora.

What are the main services of your hotel?

On the guesthouse floor, we offer four rooms with king-size or queen-size beds, private bathrooms with walk-in showers, separate toilets, a television, and a refrigerator.
A delicious breakfast is served on the terrace or by the fireplace, depending on the season.
Domaine de la Xavolière is a Mediterranean-style retreat between sea and mountain. Natural tones and a Zen, minimalist decor draw inspiration from the surrounding wild landscape.
We’ve preserved noble, antique materials—stone walls, majestic old doors, terracotta tiles throughout the floors. Furniture and decorative objects have been carefully chosen to create a unique atmosphere. The antique Spanish doors open onto warm, handcrafted tile floors flooded with light.

Our 20–30 m² rooms, with their clean lines, are decorated in mineral hues inspired by nature. Every semi-open bathroom has been redesigned in the Mediterranean lifestyle tradition, featuring spacious walk-in showers tiled in green, white, and gray zellige.
From the estate’s enclosed park, you can access numerous hiking routes (including the GR®51). We also provide electric-assist bicycles so you can explore the area at your own pace.

Do you want to tell our readers anything else?

Domaine de la Xavolière is committed to offering chic, sustainable tourism that respects both our guests’ well-being and the natural environment.
A true jewel of nature within the Préalpes d’Azur Regional Nature Park, our estate lies in a natural zone (most of it wooded and officially protected). It’s an invitation to immerse yourself in the rich ecosystems and natural heritage of this protected territory.
