Dating back to 1640, this 9th generation family-run hotel is Norway’s oldest. The hotel is surrounded by a romantic garden in the idyllic village of Solvorn. It offers elegant rooms and beautiful views of Lustrafjord and its mountains.
Walaker Hotel’s unique rooms create an old-world charm with their antique furniture, high ceilings and decorative curtains. The stylish bathrooms include a bathtub or shower, toilets and free bath products. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.
A breakfast buffet is served daily and includes a mix of local products like homemade cheese, fruit juices, jams and other treats. In the evening, a 4-course menu featuring exquisite dishes made with locally sourced products is served at Walaker’s Restaurant, which overlooks the fjord. In summer, enjoy coffee and other drinks in the garden.
Guests wishing to explore the Sognefjord region can rent electric bicycles at Hotel Walaker, go hiking in the mountains or explore Jostedalsbreen Glacier. The 12th-century Urnes Stave Church is a 30-minute ferry ride away. Other popular activities in the surrounding region include kayaking, fishing, RIB boat tours, scenic hikes, and a variety of fjord experiences.
