As a result of being destroyed and then rebuilt, Belgrade is a city with a unique architecture. The oldest building is in Kalemegdan Park and only dates back to the 19th century. The great fortress of Belgrade is located in this huge green area of the city. Don’t miss the wonderful view of where the Sava and the Danube converge at this point.
Our experts’ advice
Take a stroll along Lake Sava’s long pebbled beaches, enjoy water skiing or go on a bike ride along the 7 kilometres of cycle paths in the area! On summer evenings, there are lots of places to have some fun and enjoy a drink with friends.
Belgrade is buzzing throughout the day and night and is known as the party capital of Eastern Europe. Take a seat at one of the many terrace bars in the Zemun district, the most historic part of the city. Check out the trendy bars in Skadarlija or jump aboard Splavovi, a floating bar that turns into an all-night club. The bars are open throughout the summer season from May and you’ll find the night clubs are located in the centre of this ultra-lively city.
