When to go to Tulum

The best time to visit Tulum, Mexico is during the dry season between November and May. This is when the temperatures are cooler, which makes it more comfortable for walking around and exploring. If you're planning a trip during this time of year, we recommend going in March or April; these months are less crowded than May through November.

What to do in Tulum?

If you want to experience all that Tulum has to offer, plan your trip around one of its many festivals. The Festival del Mamey (mamey fruit) is held from December through March with live music, food and handicrafts available for purchase. There's also a festival dedicated solely to seafood called La Ruta del Mariscos which takes place every October; it features fresh fish tacos along with other seafood dishes native only found on the coast, such as oysters and shrimp ceviche! Which area to stay in Tulum?

Tulum, Mexico is a small town, however, you do need to decide whether you want to stay in the city enter or the beach. The city center is a good 20-minute ride to the beach. There are pros and cons to both locations. If you are looking at hotels located on the beach, be aware yoga, relaxing and eating is the majority of activities that revolve around this area. If you are looking to be immersed in the local culture of Tulum and enjoy local cuisine, then look for a hotel situated in the city center. 

Best beaches in Tulum!

If you ask any traveler, “Where is the best beach in Tulum?” I'm sure they will answer with Tulum beach. This is one of my favorite places because it's so beautiful and relaxing. The sand is white and the water is crystal clear, which makes it perfect for swimming, snorkeling or scuba diving. If you want to spend some time on this paradise island, then I recommend staying at an Airbnb home near Playa del Carmen so that you don't have to drive far away from your accommodations when going out during the day!
