In Calvi- under the benevolent gaze of the statue of Notre Dame de la Serra- is La Villa; almost reminiscent of a Corsican dream as it overlooks the citadel and one of the most beautiful bays in the world. Marion and Jean-Pierre Pinelli created this hotel over 15 years ago. The water of the infinity pool in the middle of the terrace seems to be purposefully seeking a way to join the Mediterranean. The understated and contemporary design of the rooms promises total relaxation. In the kitchen- Christophe Bacquie takes Corsican and Mediterranean cuisine to new heights and reserves a starring role for fresh fish and shellfish. His dishes capture the essence of the Island of Beauty- such as his delicious and freshly caught Dentex fish or rock fish served with grille mushrooms- baby onions- new potatoes- basil and a drizzle of olive oil.
